CONQUER THE FEAR
THE GO DOGO SOUND PROGRAM WORKS !
Together with dog experts from the University of Copenhagen and with a input from >20 independent international behavior consultants (mainly from DK, UK, US), we have created a training protocol that helps dogs overcome sound-sensitivity - starting with the number-one issue: Fireworks. Using treats and computer vision, Go Dogo slowly teach your dog that the scary noises are not scary at all, by providing the consistency and repetition that tech (and treat rewards!) can bring to the table.
HOW IT WORKS
The Go Dogo Fireworks Training Program is divided in 3 parts and has in total 8 levels (F1-F8), where your dog is in full control during the first 7.
Before starting on the program your dog should, as a minimum, master Go Dogo Level 4: Sit. During the Fireworks Training levels, sitting in front of the TV is the sign that your dog is comfortable with the sound volume, and his/her way of saying “please, proceed”.
It goes like this...
Sit = Fireworks

Fireworks = Treat

CONSISTENCY IS KEY
Sound desensitization training needs to be done in short, but regular sessions: Ideally only a few minutes, 1- 2 times a day or every other day, until you see results. The technique we are using is extremely slow, but has been proven to help >70% of dogs with fireworks anxiety. If your dog starts to hesitate or move away, the Fireworks Training Program will stop and one of the regular Go Dogo games will go on. This is to ensure that we always end on a high note. Later, when the fireworks training resumes the volume will also be decreased a couple of notches, as your dog's behavior indicated that he/she was not yet ready for that level of intensity.
