MISSION & VALUES

Improving the well-being of dogs is what we come to work for every day at Go Dogo. We want to make dogs’ lives better and help other dog parents. This is why we have developed the Go Dogo game with the help of dog experts who, like us, believe in dog training based on positive reinforcement.

We have developed the Go Dogo game with four important aspects in mind.

Positive reinforcement

Go Dogo is based on positive reinforcement, meaning that your dog learns by getting a treat whenever a challenge is solved. Our game does not use punishment that could confuse or scare your dog - the worst thing that can happen is that a treat gets released later than your dog bargains for.

Dog-owner interaction

Nothing can replace the interaction between you and your dog. Go Dogo is meant to help you to give your dog more mental stimulation on a daily basis - not to take anything from them. Find inspirations for DIY workouts for you and your dog here.

Having fun - even while home alone

Most dogs have to be home alone at some point. Scheduling a Go Dogo session for when you’re gone is a great idea, but please don’t leave your dog home alone longer, because you have installed our system. Everyone performs better with a cheerleader (you!) on the sidelines.

Individual learning pace

Dogs are individuals and have very different personalities. Some will understand the game the first time they try, others will need time and help. Give your dog the time they need and rather go too slow than too fast. Feel free to throw in extra treats if your dog is shy or insecure - cheating is totally allowed in our game!

THE STORY OF
GO DOGO

WITH OUR CEO & FOUNDER, HANNE JARMER

Diversity and difference are
our guiding principles.

HOW IT
STARTED

Giving your dog enough mental stimulation can be tricky

In 2015, Hanne was busy as a department head at the Technical University of Denmark, balancing a family of four kids and Leo, her young whippet. When another whippet (Louis) joined the family in 2016, Hanne realised how difficult it was to ensure that both dogs got the mental stimulation they needed on a daily basis.

"Why can't my TV help?"

Being an experienced engineer, she was sure she could develop a technical solution to this problem. One day, as she was leaving for work, she thought “Why can’t my TV help?“. After a bit of thinking and a lot of testing, Go Dogo was born. Hanne was soon joined by three talented engineers who shared her passion and worked tirelessly to get the first prototypes developed.

HOW IT'S
GOING

Launched in Denmark in 2021

In 2020, a few more members (furry and non-furry) joined the Go Dogo family, lots of product tests were conducted (many dogs got a lot of treats in the process!) and many COVID related challenges were mastered. With support from leading dog experts, great investors and advisors, we successfully launched our product in the autumn of 2021.

Launched in the US in 2022

According to the World Animal Foundation, about 66% of US households own a pet. That, combined with the American tech savviness makes the US an ideal market for Go Dogo and naturally, one of our main focuses after launching in Denmark. US-based dog parents can get their hands on Go Dogo here, on our website, or on Amazon.

Launced in UK, EU and Canada in 2023

Dog parents in the UK, all of EU and Canada can now get their paws on a Go Dogo for their dog too!

We will launch in the rest of the world soon

Our ultimate goal is to be able to reach dogs from all over the world. But we’re a small startup with limited resources, and in many ways we have to take baby steps. We are opening to new markets based on demand, so if you're based outside of Denmark or the US, please sign up here and we'll notify you as soon as Go Dogo become available in your country.

THE TEAM

Go Dogo CEO & Founder, Hanne Jarmer

HANNE JARMER

CEO & Founder

I make sure that everything is on track and that we have the resources and contacts we need. In other words, I try to make sure that everyone is happy, but I also confuse the entire team (mostly Henrik) with my crazy ideas.

I pet all dogs that I can get my hands on, write a heck of a lot of emails and go to endless meetings. I talk about Go Dogo to everyone, everywhere and all the time.

Go Dogo COO & Co-Founder, Ole Lim Christiansen

OLE LIM CHRISTIANSEN

COO & Co-Founder

I develop the Go Dogo mobile app and manage our IT infrastructure.

I write code, snack continuously, and make sure everyone is up to date with the wonders of the Internet. Sometimes all at once. I talk extensively about real estate and the fancy restaurants in Copenhagen, and surprise the others with very random conversations, at very random times.

Go Dogo COO & Co-Founder, Henrik Petersen

HENRIK PETERSEN

CTO & Co-Founder

I develop the software for the main hardware units and the Computer Vision algorithms we use to recognise dog actions.

I turn coffee into code, implement features that Hanne thinks she wants, carry TV-screen and furniture around the office building for tests/demos and then re-implement features when Hanne eventually changes her mind.

Go Dogo Head of Product Design, Ioannis Kanellopoulos

IOANNIS KANELLOPOULOS

Head of Product Design

I design and build our prototypes and plan on how to put our product in mass production. I spend a lot of time in the lab, 3D printing, laser-cutting and soldering PCBs. I also test every unit that goes out to our customers, beforehand.

In general, I make awkward jokes. I try to score hoops on our new mini basketball rim and I talk about everything and anything with Ole. I also really try to keep my desk tidy. But it is so hard!

Go Dogo Communication Designer, Stefana Birsan

STEFANA BIRSAN

Communication Designer

I am in charge of our many Social Media channels, graphics and the Go Dogo website.

My heart and camera roll are 99% dog. I cuddle our office dogs, help out with whatever random project the team comes up with and make sure that we don’t forget to have cake and Friday beers on a regular basis.

Go Dogo CMO, Sarah Grande-Hill

CHARLOTTE FRIIS

Dog Ethologist

I'm a Dog Ethologist and Go Dogo partner. I offer online consultations to help customers with their dog behavior "problems".

I have been working closely with Go Dogo since the very beginning, helping the team build a product that's not only fun, but also backed by science.

LEO

Chief Scientific Dogo

I test Go Dogo - a lot! So if you encounter issues with your Go Dogo, please remember that our QA engineers are dogs! Very good at their job, but still dogs.

I take tours around the office to get cuddles from everyone (win-win) and get annoyed when Louis fools around too much - or anyone for that matter. They call me gumpy-grandpa. A grumpy-grandpa with irresistible puppy-eyes!

Go Dogo COO & Co-Founder, Ole Lim Christiansen

LOUIS

Executive Assistant Dogo

I test Go Dogo, and I’m often picked to do demos - my mom says that it’s because I’m a bit slow - so it’s easier for her to tell what is going on, while I work.

I love sleeping almost as much as I love playing Go Dogo. Sometimes I put my head next to where Leo is sleeping until he gets adequately annoyed and moves away so that I can steal his warm soft bed. Patience is key, friends!

Go Dogo COO & Co-Founder, Henrik Petersen

FALKA

Happiness Consultant

I make sure that the Go Dogo team is happy and play model in too many photoshoots! I can look cute, confused, sad, happy, excited - whatever gives me cuddles.

I also participate in our DIY Mental Workout videos, but often let my colleagues Leo and Louis take the spotlight as they are more food-driven than me and even WORK FOR DRY KIBBLE! Boys, I tell you...

Go Dogo Head of Product Design, Ioannis Kanellopoulos

HUGO

Barketing Specialist

The office is one of my favorite places to be! I'm a pain in the butt for Leo & Louis, but fortunately they are quite tolerant of my puppy energy.

Sometimes, when everyone is busy, I tend to tap the floor, demanding attention. It works everytime! Profesionally speaking, I'm a trick master and social media superstar! I'm winning people over with my irresistible look.
